Legacy and Activism in Initial Teacher Education

Th is is the 2026 TEFANZ conference theme. It asks: What do we want our legacy to be as teacher educators? At this moment in time, critical engagement with the direction of travel in education and teacher education seems more important than ever. We want the conference to be a place to open and sustain conversations about how we maintain our values, integrity, ethics, and bicultural, multicultural, and decolonising commitments.What kinds of activism might be needed to ensure that teacher education continues to be strong, independent, and respected?
